Abstract:
The president of a leading bicycle and accessories manufacturer is exploring strategic alternatives, including considering taking the company private via an infusion of private equity. The management team would like to obtain control of the company, but is not sure if the private equity firm's return expectations would allow them to do so. Useful for MBA students interested in private equity and entrepreneurial careers, as well as executive teams considering management buyouts and other strategic financing opportunities.
